Tips for measuring

Measure in feet with a tape measure or by pacing (one adult step is roughly 2.5 feet). For an odd-shaped bed, split it into rectangles and circles, run each part through the calculator, and add the results together.

Most landscape supply yards sell bulk material by the cubic yard or by the ton, while garden centers sell bags by the cubic foot. Every calculator here shows both, so you can compare prices.
